The man looks weary,thoughtful,or even downcast. The grass around the wagon is dotted with wild yellow narcissus,a symbol of reflection,disappointment,and disdain. Despite the seeming despair of the man,the scene is one of optimism. The woman obviously cares about the man,and sees to it that he gets sustenance. Discontent,imaginary vexations,disgust,weariness,re-evaluation.
