I tend to be a very visual person, so Tarot spells work very well for me. If you haven't already, please read the page on Magick Theory, in order to ensure that your focus is in the right place, your expectations realistic, and your faith unshakable.

I'll illustrate the altar configurations using the traditional Rider/Waite deck, so that it will be most easily recognizable, however, you can and should use whatever deck feels right for you. My current collection consists of about two-dozen decks. Some I use exclusively for divination, while others are mostly used for spell casting. When I'm about to cast or scry, I usually find that one deck or another just seems to recommend itself, and this is one of the reasons I own so many decks. Generally, the ones that find most use are:
